Blue-redstripe danio : ウィキペディア英語版 | Blue-redstripe danio
''Danio pulcher'' also known as the Blue-redstripe danio is a tropical fish belonging to the ''Danio'' genus in the family Cyprinidae. Originating from Southeast Asia in southern Thailand, Chantaburi province, this fish is rarely found in the fish-keeping hobby. It tends to be smaller than the pearl danio and has a distinctive wide, luminous orange stripe which diminishes under the dorsal. While still rare, it is known to hobbyists as danio blue-redstripe. When originally discovered by Hugh McCormick Smith in 1931, it was named ''Danio pulcher'', which translates as beautiful danio, but it was later synonymised with ''D. abolineatus''. Scholars are currently undecided as to whether it is a separate species from ''D. abolineatus'', but the majority concur that it is not. ''Danio pulcher'' is a valid species not a variety of ''D. albolineatus''. ==References==
